This plant also has no good roots. These "strings" are the insides of the roots. To the right is a closeup of these roots. Notice that the leaves on this phal are beginning to wither. This is because the roots system is incapable of transporting the water to the leaves- not because the owner underwatered the plant. |

On the other hand, this orchid has not received enough water. The leaves are somewhat limp and the roots are somewhat shriveled. This is not too much of a problem. Repotting and adequate watering should revive this plant. |

To the left you see a cattleya that is too dry. The leaves are withered, as well as the pseudobulbs. Some "wrinkling" is normal; however, this is too much. This plant might have contracted another problem also, as shown by the splotchy leaves. The prognosis for a really healthy, happy plant is not good. |
